摘要

In this report we present the results of running Monte Carlo simulations on theConnection Machine (CM-5E) to study the behavior of laser propagation in the ocean. We developed an advanced hydrologic radiative transfer model to estimate the effective depth of a laser imaging system in various ocean environments. This model simulates a flat ocean surface. Simulations showed that the effective depth was inversely proportional to the total attenuation coefficient.
