Polyphase Approach to Time-Varying Filter Banks

In this paper, we introduce a polyphase representation for linear time-varying(LTV) filters. Using the proposed polyphase approach, we are able to show some unusual properties of LTV filter bank (FE) that have not been pointed out before. The problem of interchangability of analysis and synthesis banks will be considered. Lossless TVFBs will be studied in detail. Perfect reconstruction (PR) can always be obtained for lossless TVFBs. However, in general a PR lossless TVFB will only generate a tight frame. (AN).
