摘要

The objective of the ASCACT (Advanced Shipboard Command and Control Technology) project is to improve data processing capability for shipboard Command and Control Information Systems (CCISs) by developing a multiprocessor testbed. The general purpose of the ASCACT testbed is for the integration of high performance Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products into the shipboard CCIS in order to resolve the envisioned high speed, high throughout, date base intensive applications of the future. The ASCACT testbed will allow investigations to occur on any combination of these requirements. To fulfill the objective of an ongoing task sponsored by the Directorate Maritime Ship Support (DMSS 8), the Defence Research Establishment Valcartier (DREV) is currently providing consulting services in support of the ASCACT project. The content of this document responds to the requirements of Activity 1 of the task. In that respect, the document identifies and describes the R&D work conducted at DREV in the areas of Multi-Sensor Data Fusion (MSDF), Situation and Threat Assessment (STA), and Resource Management (RM) that can potentially be used In the ASCACT testbed. It also discusses the level of effort to port that technology to ASCACT. In addition, an overview of the ASCACT project, a discussion of the context in which the project is conducted, and a description of the ASCACT Integration Working Group mandate and activities are also presented.
