The thermal stability of an N,N-dinitramide salt of the formula M(+)N(NO2)2 whereM(+) is a nitrogen-containing cation, is improved by mixing with the N,N-dinitramide salt a compound of the formula ... (structural formula) where R, R' and R are the same or different and are aryl or alkyl. A new composition of matter is formed by mixing the N,N-dinitramide salt and the prophosphatrane compound.
