Legal Aspects of Domestic Employment of the Army

摘要

The 1990's have seen a significant number of domestic employments of the UnitedStates Army. This study examines and distills the legal issues arising from disaster relief operations and military support to civilian law enforcement. It further analyzes lessons learned from the 1992 Los Angeles Riots and the FBI experience at Ruby Ridge in order to apply those lessons to future military employments. The premise of this paper is that strict adherence to the law in domestic employments is the critical element in order to maintain the proper relationship between the American people and America's Army.
