Solid-State Plasma Lighting Solutions for Army Test Range Applications.

摘要

Many lighting solutions for high-speed videography on Army test ranges include arc discharge lamps, high-lux flashbulbs, and more recently, laser illumination systems. Vertical cavity surface-emitting lasers are being developed with temporal and spectral filtering to effectively remove self- luminosity and fireball from images, thereby providing excellent background discrimination in a variety of range test scenarios. The technology solution gap addressed herein is the need for a reliable, stable, rugged, compact, and high-luminosity light source for interior vehicle shots as well as larger target areas in highly explosive event characterization. The emphasis here is on a new class of solid-state plasma lighting solution.
