This report presents the results of a treatability study performed by ParsonsEngineering Science, Inc. (Parsons ES) at the Current Fire Training Area (FT-08), Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts to evaluate the use of intrinsic remediation with long-term morning (LTM) as a remedial option for dissolved fuel-hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents in the shallow groundwater. Residual light nonaqueous-phase liquid (LNAPL) present within the vadose zone and phreatic soils serves as a continuing source for the dissolved groundwater contamination. There is no evidence of mobile LNAPL at this site. This study focused on the fate and transport of dissolved benzene , toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX) in the shallow groundwater system at the site.
