Evaluation of the NJROTC Multimedia Instructional System

The Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) provides academicinstruction and leadership training to high school students. Approximately ten years ago, a computer based multimedia instructional system was developed in the NJROTC unit at Sanger High School in California. Over the years, the system has been refined and it has been installed at other schools. Before determining whether to expand the use of the system to additional NJROTC locations, the Office of the Chief of Naval Education and Training (CNET) asked RAND's National Defense Research Institute (NDRI) to evaluate it.
