This report results from a contract tasking Kiev Taras Shevchenko National University as follows: The contractor will determine the relationship of phase characteristics between TeO2 and GaAs cells with their constructive and technical parameters. Design a Braggcell TeO2 with minimal phase distortions operating near 100 MHz. Experimentally investigate the phase characteristics for a Bragg cell on TeO2. Thus, the basic results of the work are as follows: 1. A Bragg cell in a heterodyne (coherent) signal processing system does not insert any appreciable phase distortions into an output signal unless a photodetector size is less than a light spot one. 2. Otherwise, such distortions can offer and be appreciable causing an unavoidable frequency dependent phase noise and a dynamic range reduction. 3. In testing optical systems a Bragg cell wave-front distortions can cause a deterioration of system parameters. From the aforesaid follows that further experimental investigations using a photodiode array are useful and necessary to learn vividly real limitations of considered opto- electronic system application.
