Oral LD50 of Super Critical Water Oxidation (SCWO) Post Evaporator Distillate in Rats

Six groups of 12 (6 males, 6 females) Sprague-Dawley rats were dosed orally (intubated) with Super Critical Water Oxidation (SCWO) distillate product with dose levels ranging from 2.5-25.0 mL/kg. During the 14-day post-exposure observation, none of the SCWO animals showed any adverse toxic effects, and the 25.0 mL/kg dosed animals also had neither adverse hematologic nor clinical chemistry effects. A group of 12 rats (6 males, 6 females) dosed orally with sterile water at 25.0 mL/kg was similar in its response (toxic signs, hematology, clinical chemistry) when compared to the SCWO animals. Gross pathology done on both the 25.0 mL/kg SCWO and sterile water rats showed no adverse effects. Naive rats, when examined in the same way as the test animals, were no different than the test animals in all aspects. Under the test conditions described in this study, the SCWO distillate product was no more toxic than the sterile water.
