摘要

Research is being performed to determine if exposures to low levels of sarin (GB) create chronic health problems. The effect of low-level sarin exposures on possible toxic effects produced by other chemicals, especially chemicals that have mechanisms of toxicity similar to that of sarin, also is being investigated. Mature Sprague-Dawley rats are being exposed to various combinations of chlorpyrifos, GB, pyridostigmine bromide (PB), and N,N-diethyl- m-toluamide (DEET) over four days and blood cholinesterase inhibition, neurobehavior and neuropathology assessed. Pilot experiments have established doses to be used in 30-day assessment studies.
