This paper, by the European administrator of the Bosnian city of Mostar, involves a recounting of his experiences and decisions in the Yugoslavian territories, as well as broach the perspectives that might obtain from a regional expert's analysis. Far from a scholarly paper, the text lacks footnotes, bibliographical references, and argumentative structure, but is rather an incitement to take part in the fate of the war-torn areas in Southeastern Europe. The text's value is as a pithy, yet ultimately superficial summary of multilateral European involvement, including that of the Catholic Church, in the former Yugoslavia, essentially in a journalese-friendly format.
