This dissertation can be divided into eight chapters: 1) the place of the right of intellectual property in the German legal system; 2) the history of intellectual property; 3) the concept and being of intellectual property; 4) the defense of intellectual property through article 14 of the Basic Law; 5) the basic legal guarantee of personality-related aspects of intellectual property; 6) intellectual property in the Indonesian legal system; 7) defense of the intellectual property according to international law; 8) the defense of intellectual property in comparison, Germany and Indonesia. The study includes the Republic of Indonesia's stipulation (in German translation) regarding copyright and brand names as a fifty-page appendix.
