Metal Catalytic Formulation for the Detoxification of Halogenated Warfare Agents with a Special Emphasis on Sulfur Mustard

Background: The Plans, Programs, Analysis and Evaluation Directorate of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (MRMC) is responsible for management and oversight of the DoD's health-related research, development and acquisition initiatives. This includes the administration of the Army's medical RDA funding and the Defense Health Program (DHP) funding, and the close coordination with the other services in their individual health-related RDA activities. MRMC requires expert research support services to perform specific functions vital to the execution of its oversight responsibilities. These functions include the Command Science and Technology Objective (STO) process. By a mutual agreement between the Deputy for R&D and Director, Division of Experimental Therapeutics, WRAIR, where the above cooperative agreement was initiated from, I had been serving at the Directorate for Plans and Programs office at the headquarters in Fort Detrick, MD.
