Conference/Symposium - Medical Simulation and Image-Guided Surgery Special Sessions for the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers

摘要

The organizers of the 2001 SPIE Medical Imaging meeting decided to 'retask' the Image Display Conference to have a separate Image-Guided Procedures and Surgical Simulation tract. Funds from the USMRMC and from the Whitaker foundation allowed us to bring in some of the top researchers in this field as well as up and coming young scholars. A short course on surgical simulation and a hands-on workshop were developed. The Image-Guided Procedures and Surgical Simulation tract of the SPIE meeting proved to be a great success. Over 60 papers and posters were presented and the workshop generated significant interest in the field.
