In January 1997 the Range Commanders Council Signature Measurement Standards group (RCC/SMSG), in coordination with the RCC Taskmaster, established RCC/SMSG Task 08 titled, 'DoD RCS Certification Feasibility Demonstration for Static and Dynamic RCS Measurement Facilities.' Referred to herein as the DoD RCS Demonstration Program, the task assessed the feasibility of establishing common documentation standards to describe and certify the operation and capabilities of the DoD's diverse RCS measurement facilities located throughout the United States.
