Siemens developed the 21105 monitor as an improved version of the 21103. The 21105 uses a high resolution 5-megapixel electron gun to achieve a finer spot size at 35 IL in the monoscopic mode. Concomitantly, the CRT faceplate transmission was increased from 28% to 42%.
