摘要

When biopotentials are recorded from the surface of the skin, skin impedance will usually influence the measurement. In this study, skin impedance was minimized by improving blood circulation. The investigators found that skin impedance can be reduced by more than 50% if the skin is soaked in warm water for 5 minutes. This method can be applied to all situations in which surface electrodes such as EKG, EEG, and EMG are used, especially in the case of patients with poor blood circulation.
