Our activities during this Phase I SBIR grant included four major undertakings: (1) Designed and constructed EMP arrays suitable for corrosion mapping, (2) Investigated and obtained autonomous microrobots to be fitted with EMP arrays, (3) Investigated and identified suitable wireless systems for microrobot-microrobot and microrobot-central unit communication, and (4) Investigated and designed the overall system composed of the central information processing unit and set the stage for large numbers of microrobots in Phase II. We discuss our findings in each of these areas and conclude with a commercialization report at the end.
