摘要

The U.S. Army Engineer District, Tulsa, administers 38 water resource development projects in Oklahoma and two neighboring states. More than 250 recreation areas on these projects provide a wide range of opportunities for boating, camping, fishing, picnicking, and other outdoor activities. Most of the projects and associated recreation facilities in the Tulsa District are more than 30 years old. Many of the recreation facilities have deteriorated with age and have become increasingly more expensive and difficult to maintain. Frequent flooding of some projects affects popular recreation areas. Facilities at many recreation areas are becoming functionally obsolete, as visitor needs change over time.
