Responsibility of Command. How UN and NATO Commanders Influenced Airpower over Bosnia.

This study focuses on the influence theater-level commanders had on the use of airpower in Bosnia during Deny Flight the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) air operation over Bosnia between April 1993 and December 1995. In particular, the aim here is to examine how theater-level commanders in the United Nations (UN) and NATO affected the use of airpower and, to the extent possible, to explain why they acted as they did. This is the first in-depth, academic study of Deny Flight as a whole.
