摘要

A critical need exists for technologies to be employed as sensors for the rapid identification of a multiplicity of potentially harmful toxic agents in the environment. To this end, the Air Force Research Laboratory performed research to incorporate into or onto suitable substrates polymer conjugates that can bind to chemical, biological or other toxic agents. These multi-agent sensors present the potential for a real-time probe to enable the sensing and identification of known chemical and biological warfare agents as well as new agents for which no identification systems exists. This report documents the chemistry research performed to identify and configure the substrate polymer(s).
