摘要

SET-144 was successful in that many countries participated in the Task Group and those participating Nations expended resources (labor and money) because they received added value over and above what each country could accomplish by itself. SET-144 advanced the state-of-the-art and knowledge-base in all six areas of research in the TOR. The major/tangible accomplishment was the planning, execution and analysis of the SQUIRREL trial. The SQUIRREL trial conducted IR radiometric measurements on a Canadian research ship equipped with a prototype signature management system. Also several other maritime targets were measured. All SET-144 Nations participated in this trial. Every country greatly benefited from this trial, which was too resource-intensive for any one country to conduct by itself.
