Common Affordable Radar Processor (CARP) Build 4.1 (OPTION 3)

The Office of Naval Research (ONR) Surface/Aerospace Surveillance technology program is conducting technology investigations and development of advanced radar signals, and control processor technology for current and planned radar systems. The Common Affordable Radar Processor (CARP) program is investigating new processor hardware, networks, and software architectures, which can readily accept integration of new radar signal inputs, digital signal processing techniques/algorithms, system control implementations, and software system infrastructures. The project emphasizes application of state of technology Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) open architecture processing and networking solutions to Navy radar and combat system needs. The CARP program investigates the utility of emerging commercial processing solutions for application to advanced naval radar sensor systems. The scope of this final report is to document CARP program activities completed during Build 4.1 development supported by Delivery Order 005 Option 3 of the CARP contract. The report states project development objectives followed by a detailed description of significant development stages of: requirements definition, system architectural design, development, integration and testing. The report identifies the configuration management processes performed during development and also includes a section on future plans incorporating goals and lessons learned from development to date.
