Case-Control Study of Antibodies to Toxoplasma gondii and Risk of Schizophrenia among U.S. Military Personnel

摘要

A number of studies have reported associations between T. /gondit infection and risk of schizophrenia. Most existing studies used small populations and single post-diagnosis specimens. As part of a larger ressearch program we conducted a hypothesis-generating, pilot case-control study of T. gondil antibodies among individuals discharged from the US military with a diagnosis of schizophrenia and multiple pre- and post- diagnosis serum specimens available.
