摘要

Electrospinning is a nanofiber fabrication technique that has grown rapidly in popularity in recent years due to its potential in numerous biomedical applications in the military. The objective is to design an electrospinning system with custom software to control through a single interface and to automate the electrospinning spinning process. Using this production scheme, operators will be able to increase throughput to test spinning configurations more efficiently to suit their specific biomedical applications. The electrospinning system has been in operation and can successfully generate nanofibers from a variety of polymer solutions. It is capable of running for several hours and producing stable nanofiber scaffolds. The design of this system aimed to maximize ease of use on the part of the operator, and provide flexibility to accommodate new components and different configurations. This system will increase the throughput of fiber samples and streamline the procedure of investigating new implementations and applications.
