New media's meteoric rise and increasing pervasiveness dictate fresh terms for the culture of media engagement. With easy access, enormous reach, and breadth, this upstart has flexed sufficient muscle during recent conflicts to alter or transform our traditional view of information and its impact on populations and military operation.
