摘要

Research covering SiNC, SiC and ultra-high-temperature (UHT) structural ceramic fibres, HfC and TaC, will be discussed. All four classes of preceramic polymers are melt-spun, cross-linked, and thermally treated yielding multi-hundred filament tow spool. Polysilazane based SiNC fibres are spun, at 500 filaments, in pilot quantity achieving tensile strength between 2.0-2.5 GPa. Minimal oxygen incorporation.
