Evaluation of the Twin Screw Power Conveyor

Loosely packed bags will hang up at stands or sag between tubes causing damage and delays. As a rule most commercially packed bags are tight enough and can be conveyed on the Twin Screw Power Conveyor. In loading, unloading and warehousing operations where considerable fork truck and personnel traffic can be found, a Twin Screw Power Conveyor in operation may block several aisles for a few hours. This will cause undesirable delays and may involve rescheduling of various operations. Where bags are handled exclusively and tiered without being palletized, the twin screw power conveyor would prove to be useful. As and when bags are to be palletized, which is the usual procedure at Naval installations, it is simpler and more economical to palletize in the freight car or truck and remove the pallet by fork truck. By using this latter method no aisles will be blocked and no other operations will be interfered with.
