A Note on the Preparation of Designs and Estimates for Workshop Sheds With special reference to the Mechanical Workshop Project on the Assam Railway

This experience made us feel that the time and money spent on the preparation of designs for the Assam Railway Project could be considered as more profitably used if we could put together in some sort of order the results of our investigations and make them available in printed form. This note is the result of these considerations. It is not claimed that any original ideas or methods have been employed. Certain aspects of estimating and preparation of economic design of workshop sheds have been gone into, in detail and we hope the results may be of interest to Engineers, who may be engaged on similar projects.
