Railway Construction in India Plant and Stores

This is compiled from lists carried by the author for years together and has been improved, added to and brought up to date with the assistance of the office of the Engineer-in-Chief, Assam Rail Link Project.nThe introductory chapter gives the broad and salient details of "Stores" procedure from the Executives' point of view. In the matter of accountal, mention had to be made of open line stores procedure as in many respects the accountal procedure of Construction and Open Line stores are similar. Actual consumption of stores will depend on the nature and extent of works to be done and therefore no quantities have been shown. The author claims no originality in this compilation but hopes this will be of some use to Engineers, specially Construction Engineers.
