Basic Education and Military Proficiency: Phases I and II.

摘要

The purpose of the Basic Education Project at Fort Leonard Wood was to (a) increase the effectiveness of the educational program by sending men to Basic Education School on duty time before they entered Basic Training, and (b) estimate the effects of the special training in terms of the potential military usefulness of the men. The study concluded that Basic Education Training (in its 1953 form) might be effective in increasing the trainability of some groups of semi-literate men, but the effect was neither large nor uniform.
