Methods of determining the moisture content of aggregates are outlined and their characteristics are discussed and tabulated. Comments are based on information already published and on experience of some of the tests under laboratory conditions, but results of comparative tests are not included. The review includes methods based on a number of different principles for some of which special apparatus is commercially available in this country. It is concluded that one or other of the displacement methods is likely to be most suitable for average site or factory conditions because of their simplicity and reasonable accuracy.
