In the United Kingdom, drying shrinkage tests are carried out at 17 per cent relative humidity and 50° C. In many other countries such tests are made at 45 per cent r. h. and 25° C. Natural drying in England is generally considered to be at 65 per cent r. h. and 18° C.nThe present investigation examines the drying shrinkage exhibited by different concretes when they are taken from saturation to equilib¬rium with the above levels of humidity.nIt is shown that the concrete can be divided into two groups with respect to their behaviour during drying, those which have been autoclaved-cured and those which have been air-cured.
