The Institute for Testing Models and Structures was visited by the Author in November 1956. This paper-describes the general layout of the Institute, its facilities for testing, and some of the work it has undertaken.nSome details are given of the material that has been developed to simulate the behaviour of concrete both in the elastic and elasto-plastic ranges. It has a controllable elastic modulus suitable for the production of scale models of structures.
