Many firing circuits are based on a phase shifted or d.c. shifted a.c. waveform, but with controlled rectifiers, where firing charac¬teristics vary with temperature, this type of circuit gives only rough control. A sinusoidal trigger signal does not define the firing point with any precision and a steep fronted firing pulse is preferable.nWith this point in mind, several transistor pulse generator circuits are described using readily obtainable components.
