REPORT AND CRITERIA OF METHOD OF MEASUREMENT AND RECOMMENDED ALLOWABLE LIMITS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE VOLTAGES FROM HIGH VOLTAGE TRANSMISSION LINES OF THE 132 KV CLASS

This report presents a method of establishing allowable levels of electromagnetic interference from transmission lines of 70 KV to 132 Kv. A standard method of making measurements and a graph of allowable limits are in¬cluded, both based on the field work performed under Phase II of this contract. Recommendations are also included.nIt has previously been established that it is not economically feasible to prevent all radio interference from high voltage lines, but it is practicable to reduce interference within limits. Contract NOy-88454 called for establishment of methods of measurement and allowable levels of interference on lines below 69 Kv. The present contract is an extension of the same work to higher voltages.nMeans of suppression and mitigation of electromagnetic interference to acceptable limits will be considered under Phase IV of this contract.
