摘要

As a part of the Interim Operational Capability (IOC) concept of the Atlas Weapons System, a requirement for a transport and handling vehicle for the Atlas ICBM, was generated. This vehicle was to be designed to transport the Atlas Missile both over the highway and in a C-133B cargo type aircraft. This vehicle was also to be designed to allow erection of the missile out of the vehicle using the IOC 65-2 Erection Mechanism. Also the vehicle was to be used to hold the missile during depot maintenance operations including demating of the missile booster section. (Author)
