MODEL TESTS ON THE BELLMOUTH SPILLWAY FOR TITTESWORTH RESERVOIR STAFFORDSHIRE POTTERIES WATER BOARD

The purpose of the model tests was (a) to calibrate the spillway so that accurate measurements of flood flows from the reservoir might be made. (The river bed downstream of the dam being unsuitable for an all-stage gauging flume.) (b) to check the hydraulic behaviour of the spillway design.,nThe tests were also designed to, determine the spillways ultimate capacity at gorging, and to measure profile water pressures.
