摘要

The objective of this program is to improve the capabilities of rocket motors using end-burning grains through: (1) development of laboratory test procedures to be used as criteria for the evaluation of insulating materials, and (2) development of materials for application as motor case insulation. The development of the four laboratory test proceudres has continued. In the material development phase of the program, a new evaluation series was started which will define the relative merits of several resin binder materials according to their ability to minimize heating of the substructure during ablation. A comparison will be made by subjecting panels of refractory solids impregnated with the various resins to an oxyacetylene torch test. (Author)
