Most studies of satellite orbit perturbations derive expressions for the changes in the osculating elements, but do not determine the anomalistic period explicitly. The purpose of this report is to obtain a first order expression for the anomalistic period of a satellite orbit perturbed by the earth's oblateness and solar-lunar forces. Only the J term in the earth's gravitational potential will be considered, and the solar-lunar effects will be obtained by assuming that the satellite's angular motion is very large compared to the mean angular motions of the sun and moon. Incidental to the determination of the anomalistic period, is an evaluation of the osculating elements at an arbitrary angular position within an orbital revolution. (Author)
