AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF THE LIFT OF A SIMPLE HYDROSTATIC SLIPPER BEARING

摘要

This report describes an experimental investigation of the thickness of the fluid film of a hydrostatic slipper bearing. Its variations with the inner and outer pad diameters, size of upstream bleed and supply pressure have been obtained and suitable operating conditions are recommended. Certain practical limits on the magnitudes of some of the above para¬meters have been found.
