THE MEASUREMENT OF AXIAL DISPLACEMENT OF TRANSFORMER WINDINGS

Several simple methods are described for determining the axial displacement between the electromagnetic centers of the primary and secondary windings of a power transformer. Measurements of voltage and current only are involved. The errors of the methods are discussed and details of how they may be applied to various types of windings are given.
