The work conducted under this contract has led to the design of a system for pavement study photography consisting of:na. SUR/FAX continuous strip photography of an improved nature for record-ing all aspects of the pavementnB. Supplemental large scale, sampling, single frame photographs at 25 foot intervals keyed into the SUP./FAX coverage to record very small cracks and very detailed condition of the surfacenc. Line-of-light rut detection system which provides indications of rut-ting in the SUB/FAX film at 25 or.50 foot intervalsnd. A simple method of guidance and positioning of the photographic vehicle and positioning of the resulting filmne. A viewing device which displays the strip and frame photography, motor driven and properly coordinated, and can also display the strip and frame photography of runs taken at different times to allow analysis of progressive deterioration
