THE DISTRIBUTION OF SHEAR FORCES AND BEARING REACTIONS IN SIMPLY SUPPORTED BRIDGES

摘要

The derivation of the shear forces and bearing reactions in simply supported bridge structures subjected to groups of concentrated loads is given. The expressions for both the shear forces and the reactions involve Fourier series and distribution coefficients;the majority of the latter have previously been given graphically for use in the derivation of the longitudinal and transverse bending moments caused by abnormal loading. Additional design curves are given for the remaining distribution, coefficient necessary for the shear and reaction analysis.
