The purpose of the investigation was to determine the feasibility of obtaining an electrical circuits whose behavior would be a satisfactory analog of the dynamics of a missile in flight. It was originally hoped that this could be done with passive circuit elements; however, it was found that due to severe non-linearity and unilateral coupling, it was not possible to establish a passive circuit to represent even a linear approximation of the missile system.
