摘要

Conclusions: Aerosolized cells collected in phosphatefree solutions lose the ability to maintain phosphates against a concentration gradient. Factors which are age dependent are involved in this ability. Other stresses also result in a loss of intracellular phosphate, and the rate of loss appears to be temperature dependent. Organic phosphate of the cell appears to be the source of inorganic phosphate lost by the cell. A fraction of cell protein isolated as the nucleoprotein fraction appears to be a source of this phosphate. Nucleotides or breakdown products of nucleotides and proteins can be observed in supernatants and extraction solutions. The amounts of both nucleotides and proteins lost appear to increase as a function of temperature. (Author)
