What Science Learned About the Universe from the First Flight

摘要

The first Soviet manned space flight is discussed in terms of its contribution toward progress in science and technology. Problems involving space flight, weightlessness, and re-entry are also described. A brief note concerning the Soviet meteorological satellite program is included.
