A shielded volume (42 m) in the hot laboratory at Keller, Norway, has been used for the installation of a small pilot plant intended for studies on nuclear fuel reprocessing. During the first period of operation (1963) a plutonium separation method (the Smilax process) developed at AB Atomenergi will be studied.nThis document is a description of the project during the stage of technical planning and chemical process development.
