FULL-SCALE DEMONSTRATION OF VERTICAL FLOAT SEA-STABILIZATION CONCEPT

This report presents the results of an experimental program covering the design, construction, installation, and testing of a vertical float stabilization sys-tern on the PBM-5 seaplane.nThe purpose of the present study was to compare the wave-induced motions of a vertical float-equipped PBM-5 seaplane with the motions of a standard hull borne PBM-5. Both sea-planes were manned and instrumented for the tests.
